Volunteer on Phone Hotline/Email
Organization: Forward Justice
Volunteer Activity
As a result of the recent preliminary injunction in CSI v. Moore, which restores the voting rights of certain individuals serving an extended period of probation, there has been an influx of questions from North Carolina citizens and communities on who is now eligible to vote. Forward Justice has set up email and phone accounts specifically for contact requests about the eligibility status of North Carolina citizens with past felony convictions or whom are currently on probation/parole/post-release supervision. We are in need of volunteers who can monitor and respond to the contact requests received through these two accounts. Volunteers will receive training beforehand and will also receive a packet of resources to aid in responding to inquiries.
